50 years is indeed a milestone. In 1974, Rural Bank of San Jose was established by Mr. Teddy T. Monasterio. Fueled by his vision of helping the community in the countryside, he opened a bank in his hometown San Jose, Camarines Sur.
Over the past five decades, the story of their banking journey evolved from a single branch to now five. The struggle of the bank in the rural area waiting for even just one client to visit a branch to now having several clients seated while waiting for their turn. Amidst the adversities, Rural Bank of San Jose has remained to be a strong, steadfast partner of the community.
As they commemorated their 50th anniversary last April 6, 2024, Rural Bank of San Jose’s whole day celebration started at their head office in San Jose with a morning mass celebrated by Bishop-elect Father Louie Occiano followed by the unveiling of their building marker as a tribute to their founder, Mr. Teddy Monasterio. After which, a raffle draw was conducted and announcement of the winner as aired via facebook live. At lunch, they gave meals and something to as part of their way of giving back.
To kick-off their Filipiniana-themed anniversary event, a thanksgiving mass officiated by Vicar General Father Wilfred Almoneda was held at the chapel of the Holy Rosary Preparatory Seminary. A party was held at the same venue attended by the Mayor Jerold Pena of San Jose, distinguished guests, family members, employees and valued clients. The skies were lit with fireworks after a ceremonial toast as they announced their new name Banco San Jose with their company jingle playing in the background. They also showed appreciation to their loyal employees and valued partners by awarding them with plaques. It was indeed a fun-filled night.
With the success of Rural Bank of San Jose over the years, they show their appreciation by giving back through Corporate Social Responsibility activities. They give honor and acknowledge the pillars of the bank –unwavering trust of loyal clients, dedication of their employees and upright guidance of their Board of Directors.
A celebration in accordance with their theme “Your bank, your family.” A tribute to their journey for the past half a century and embarking to the next. True to their mission, Rural Bank of San Jose is committed to continue providing reliable financial and inclusive services for the growth and development of the community not just in the town of San Jose but, the whole Bicol region as well, in the next 50 years and beyond.
